Q’s Reviews – December 18, 2023

Wonka.   This is a quite enjoyable movie, but you must leave Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp behind.  This is a fresh story that should not be compared.  It is a musical with a number of catchy tunes.  Timothée Chalamet as Wonka can sing and dance with the best.  This is a prequel with Wonka as a young man dreaming of opening a world-renowned chocolate shop.  The chocolate cartel has other plans and does all they can to thwart his dreams.  Think of this as sweet Christmas treat.  The film is full of fancy and wonder.  They should hand out chocolates during the showing to complete the delightful experience.  Rated PG for some violence, mild language, and thematic elements.  In Theatres.  It is a Peggy’s pick.
